My Year in Movies, 2016

Happy new year!  Guess what?  My movie count actually went down in 2016!  This is due mostly to having a busier year than usual – I spent two months traveling around the country, and in the fall I got a new job that ate up a lot of my time.  I also spent a lot of my free time playing video games!  These are all positive things, of course, but they did leave a way smaller window for watching shitty movies. My Year in Movies, 2015

I thought that I had watched fewer movies than usual in 2015.  I really did.  But, I didn’t.  Not at all.  Before we get to that, though, let’s first take a look back at my movie-watching stats from previous years:

2010: 152 movies
2011: 198 movies
2012: 300 movies
2013: 368 movies
2014: 299 movies

So how many movies did I watch in 2015?  I watched an embarrassing 367 MOVIES, just a single film shy of 2013’s all-time record.  When you combine that with the insane amount of video games I beat in 2015, it becomes clear that I barely left the house.  In my defense, I spent the last 1/3 of the year in my first extended period of unemployment in more than a decade, so I had a lot of free time!  I spent much of that free time watching stupid movies.

The movie’s titles (for the most part) link to their IMDB pages, and when applicable, I also provide links to streaming sites where you can watch them free and legally.  You’re welcome.

Here are the movies I watched in 2015:

My Year in Movies, 2014

I am posting this much later than usual this year, so my apologies for that.  I usually start writing these things around late September or October, but the last few months of 2014 were extremely shitty and hectic for me, so I didn’t get a chance to begin this until mid-January!  Hopefully you pieces of shit appreciate it!

My Year in Movies, 2013

Hey, remember when I used to actually write things for this blog?  Things about comic books and video games and all sorts of fun stuff?  Or hey, how about when I started slacking off, but the awesome Jenny Incompetence kept the blog going in spite of my laziness?  Perhaps 2014 will be the year where I get this shit rolling again, but in 2013 I was busy watching way, way too many movies.

Let’s run the numbers!  In 2010, I watched 152 movies.  In 2011: 198 movies.  In 2012: 300 movies.  All of those are really disturbingly high numbers, but in 2013 I upped the ante to a crazy degree, clocking in at a disgusting total of 368 fucking movies!!  For those of you unwilling or unable to do the math, that is an average of about 1.008 movies a day.  God damn it, I am so ashamed.  Read on for the full report on every movie I watched.  For your convenience, I’ve included a link to the movies which are available to stream on Netflix – sorry I didn’t do the same for Hulu or Amazon or any other services, but I don’t have them, so fuck it.  Anyway, here we go:

My Year in Movies, 2012

In 2010, I watched 152 movies.  In 2011, I upped the ante a little bit with 198 movies.  And now, in 2012, I seem to have gone absolute apeshit, clocking in at a total of exactly 300 fucking movies!  That is an insane amount of movies, and I guess I really need to get a life or something.  Here’s how I wasted my year: Continue reading

My Year in Movies, 2011

In 2010, I watched 152 movies, and for no real reason I decided I wanted to beat that record in 2011.  I totally did, but guess what my final count was?  198.  198!!  Arghh, how frustrating is that number??  I planned to get it up to 200 in the last couple of days before New Year’s Eve, but I got busy with other things and wasn’t able to watch any movies!  But, whatever, 198 is still a hell of a lot of movies, right?  Right!  Here’s what they were:

Christmas with the Super-Heroes

Hey everyone, it’s Christmas Eve!  I’ve been reading a bunch of Christmas-themed comic books lately and have come away from it with one major discovery:  Most Christmas comic books are nutty as fuck!  When the superheroes aren’t teaming up with Santa Claus to fight robot yetis, they’re learning about hope and redemption from homeless people and poor children.  Once December comes around, everything insane and awesome about comic books grows three sizes!  In the spirit of the season, here are some of the Christmassy superhero moments that stood out to me.
