My Year in Movies, 2017

It’s that time of year again, so here we go!  We’ll start, as always, by comparing this year’s numbers to those of previous years:

In 2010, I watched 152 movies.
In 2011, I watched 198 movies.
In 2012, I watched 300 movies.
In 2013, I watched 368 movies.
In 2014, I watched 299 movies.
In 2015, I watched 367 movies.
In 2016, I watched 250 movies.

And in 2017, I watched – drumroll please – 206 movies!  That’s my lowest number since 2011!  But, I think you’ll find that this list makes up for the lack of quantity with a surprising amount of quality.

Hey, listen – just a quick tutorial before we start.  The title of the movie will almost always link to the corresponding IMDB page, and the date on which I watched it will follow.  In addition, when applicable I’ve added some handy links to streaming sites where the movie can be viewed.  They’ll come immediately after the title and date, and will look like this:     .  Due to the ever-changing catalog available on these services, some of these might be inaccurate if you’re reading this far in the future.  For that I apologize, but you’re probably too busy zipping around in flying cars to care all that much!

Okay, without any further ado, let’s get right to it!  Here are the movies I watched in the calendar year 2017:

My Year in Movies, 2014

I am posting this much later than usual this year, so my apologies for that.  I usually start writing these things around late September or October, but the last few months of 2014 were extremely shitty and hectic for me, so I didn’t get a chance to begin this until mid-January!  Hopefully you pieces of shit appreciate it!

My Year in Movies, 2013

Hey, remember when I used to actually write things for this blog?  Things about comic books and video games and all sorts of fun stuff?  Or hey, how about when I started slacking off, but the awesome Jenny Incompetence kept the blog going in spite of my laziness?  Perhaps 2014 will be the year where I get this shit rolling again, but in 2013 I was busy watching way, way too many movies.

Let’s run the numbers!  In 2010, I watched 152 movies.  In 2011: 198 movies.  In 2012: 300 movies.  All of those are really disturbingly high numbers, but in 2013 I upped the ante to a crazy degree, clocking in at a disgusting total of 368 fucking movies!!  For those of you unwilling or unable to do the math, that is an average of about 1.008 movies a day.  God damn it, I am so ashamed.  Read on for the full report on every movie I watched.  For your convenience, I’ve included a link to the movies which are available to stream on Netflix – sorry I didn’t do the same for Hulu or Amazon or any other services, but I don’t have them, so fuck it.  Anyway, here we go:

My Year in Movies, 2012

In 2010, I watched 152 movies.  In 2011, I upped the ante a little bit with 198 movies.  And now, in 2012, I seem to have gone absolute apeshit, clocking in at a total of exactly 300 fucking movies!  That is an insane amount of movies, and I guess I really need to get a life or something.  Here’s how I wasted my year: Continue reading

My Year in Movies, 2011

In 2010, I watched 152 movies, and for no real reason I decided I wanted to beat that record in 2011.  I totally did, but guess what my final count was?  198.  198!!  Arghh, how frustrating is that number??  I planned to get it up to 200 in the last couple of days before New Year’s Eve, but I got busy with other things and wasn’t able to watch any movies!  But, whatever, 198 is still a hell of a lot of movies, right?  Right!  Here’s what they were:

My Year in Movies, 2010

It’s been 2011 for a little while now, and it’s probably slightly too late for a blog to still be posting 2010 retrospective bullshit, but hey it took me a long-ass time to get this written, so fuck it.  Anyway, how many movies did you guys watch in 2010?  Me, I kept a running list of every movie I saw during the course of that year, from New Year’s Day ’10 to Christmas ’10 – 152 movies in total.  Let’s take a look, shall we?

The Most Awkward Farewell Party in History

Last time, I promised that my next post would be an exploration of a Justice League story by Patton Oswalt, but shockingly, I’ve actually had work to do at work this week, so that will have to wait a little bit.

In the meantime, I want to tell you about the movie I saw on Netflix last night, The Man From Earth.
